WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

In this workshop, we will focus on learning to really see and understand the nuances that distinguish one face from the next. Our goal will be to paint the essential character of a person as directly and simply as possible. The many exercises will teach you to:

  • Improve your observation skills
  • Hone in on the essentials
  • Select what is most important to capture the essence of the person
  • Get things on canvas in a very simple, direct, and accurate manner
  • Apply paint in different ways to best describe your subject

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Susan Ploughe is a national award-winning painter and experienced instructor who loves helping people to develop better painting and design skills. Her workshops include useful demos, valuable information, loads of practical exercises, and plenty of laughter. Working on location and in her studio, Susan enjoys painting a variety of subject matter. She has been awarded Signature status by the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America. Her artwork is in private and corporate collections and has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, American Art Collector, and International Artist magazines.
