WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Come on in - the water's fine! Water is an intriguing subject because it takes so many forms. Explore reflections, ripples, calm surfaces, waves, waterfalls, glistening surfaces and shallow transparent pools. Discover what conditions make water appear blue,
or deep black or even bright orange. Learn the characteristics of water and practice a variety of painting techniques to convey different types
 of water features.

Through daily demonstrations and discussions, Susan will highlight various visual characteristics of water, and then she will assist you in producing painted samples to reinforce each principle you are learning. If you have encountered a challenge when trying to paint water in the past, bring it with you and we will tackle it together. Expect to take home many small studies. These will be helpful to refer to when working on your own projects. You will leave this workshop with the knowledge and tools necessary for
 portraying water convincingly.
