WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Working from life definitely improves your observation skills. We will design realistic works with supporting abstract elements and painterly approaches. You will become more in tune with the overall gesture of the model, instead of just seeing detail. Learn to simplify and understand structure while applying strong values and color. Students will be encouraged to incorporate more expressive brushwork into their painting. This class will be particularly helpful to students who wish to paint more loosely and to paint their subject more efficiently. The starts are most important. |
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Frankie is an accomplished artist with over 40 years of experience
in oil painting and pastels. For the last thirty years, Frankie has
taught drawing, oil, and pastel painting at The Studio in the
Woods (Wauconda, Illinois), The Studio of Long Grove and
the Mainstreet Art Center, which she opened in 1994 with a
talented staff of instructors. She conducts workshops in locations
throughout the Midwest. |
