WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Nothing is more rewarding nor as helpful for learning to see as painting outdoors from life. The workshop will begin with a lecture on plein air painting followed by a demonstration. The rest of the workshop will be held at various locations in and around Lake Zurich and will include instruction on composition, color, value, paint application and drawing and you will have plenty of time to paint.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Kathie was raised in the Chicago area and studied at the American Academy of Art, where she won the prestigious Union Art League Scholarship Competition, then worked as a freelance commercial artist and portrait artist. Kathie creates remarkable landscapes and portraits and works primarily with a rich oil palette. She paints plein air throughout the year, as well as working in the studio. She is a Signature member of Oil Painters of America.  Kathie & her husband live on a small farm in southwest Wisconsin.
