Registration

Call us at (847) 550-0016, or drop by the school at 20 East Main Street in Lake Zurich, to register for a class.  Our kids’ classes run 8 weeks long.  The 6-8 yr. old classes are 1 ½ hours long and cost $185.00.  The 9-11 yr. old classes are 2 hours long and cost $220.00.  You have priority to sign up for the next tuition session in the first 4 weeks of the present tuition session.  To assure your child’s place in the class, please sign up for the next session by, and no later than the fourth week!  This gives our present students priority while giving our waiting list students time to prepare for their admission.

Please note this very important policy.  We send you a tuition reminder email in the 6th week of your session.  You have priority to sign up for the next session as long as you pay in the 6th or 7th week of the current session.  To assure your student's place in the class, please sign up for the next session by, and no later than the seventh week!  This gives our present students priority while giving our waiting list students time to prepare for their admission.  If your child is not continuing , please give us two weeks notice.

If you need to take a break from classes (e.g. for summer) your student's spot cannot be saved.  You can ask that your student be placed back on the wait list for a later session date, and we will call when  a spot opens.  It is best to place your student on the wait list right away or as soon as you know when they want to return.

Refunds

There are no refunds once a class has started, unless a class has to be cancelled for lack of the minimum enrollment required.  There are no refunds for missed classes.  See below for our make-up policy.

Drop Off & Pick Up

Please do not drop your child off more than 10 minutes before a class starts or pick them up more than 5 minutes after it ends.  Please be considerate of the teacher.  Some have other jobs or commitments to get to, plus it takes time to clean up and reorganize the room before the next class starts.  All children must wait inside until their ride comes.

Attendance

If your child is sick, please do not send them to art class. If the student will be absent, please be considerate and call the Art Center, that way we can schedule a MAKE UP for another student.

Make-ups

The 6-8 yr. olds and 9-11 yr. olds can make up a class within their present tuition period in another 6-8 yr. old or 9-11 yr. old class.  Please call the Art Center ahead of time to schedule your make-ups. These make ups can not be made up in a different/future  session.  If the student will be absent, please be considerate and call the Art Center, that way we can schedule a MAKE UP for another student.

Supplies

The kids need a large portfolio to put their work in, a masonite drawing board to hold their papers for painting, a general pencil, a sketchbook, a roll of paper towels, and a white Mars eraser.  Mainstreet provides the paints, pastels, and paper that they will be using in class.   You may purchase your supplies from Mainstreet or other locations.  Our prices are comparable to other art stores.  You are sure to get the right materials and good quality materials here.

Behavior

Continuous rude or disruptive behavior, improper, crude, or insulting language will not be tolerated. Mainstreet maintains the right to notify the parents of behavior problems and dismiss the student from class, without a refund. There is no Graffiti allowed anywhere in or around the building.

8 Week Sessions

The 6-8 yr. olds are required to bring baby wipes every new 8 week session.  The 9-11 yr. olds are required to bring a roll of paper towels every new 8 week session.  Every child needs to bring disinfectant wipes in their supplies.
