WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Discover the beauty of watercolor with award-winning watercolor artist, Richie Vios. In this workshop, Richie will share his approach to simplifying the watercolor process, helping each student strengthen their technique and confidence when painting from life. Students will learn how to manipulate the water to pigment ratio; in order to paint confidently with minimal strokes, resulting in artworks that appear loose yet rich in detail. |
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Richie Vios is a signature member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and a member of the Southwest Watercolor Society, Outdoor Painters Society, and the American Impressionist Society. Born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines, Richie hails from an artistic family. In 2004, he left the Philippines in hopes of a better future in America. For the next five years, he worked as an architectural designer. In 2007, he chose to chase the American dream again as a watercolor impressionist and plein air artist. He currently lives in Austin, Texas, but travels most of the time to compete in Plein Air events all over the United States and to conduct watercolor workshops along the way.
