WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

This workshop will challenge those who attend to move out of their comfort zones to explore representational imagery beyond mere copying what is before them. Solid instruction without academic conformity, this workshop is offered to artists hungry for moving their art forward. The instructor teaches with the individual artist in mind. Utilizing the costumed model, from composition to sculptural painting, with an eye towards artistic taste and aesthetic, the goal is to look beyond, to see, to think in a sensitive way. And in so doing, begin to gain a deeper understanding of the rich medium of oil painting.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Informative and passionate, Charles approaches art instruction in a logical and progressive manner by addressing visual principles and the material power of technique in order to equip the student with the skills necessary to fulfill their own artistic vision.

Charles holds a BFA from Arizona State University and studied further at the National Academy of Design and Art Students League, both in New York City.
