WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
 I will be basing most of my workshop on materials from my upcoming book for Northlight Books, which will be out April 2015.  The workshop will be structured but will also leave time for participants to explore and work on larger works.  Afternoons will have more
 open-ended time for working and we will end the day with group processing.  I like to mix things up with music and a little bit of fun!  You should leave the workshop with plenty of ideas to pursue.  You will also receive extensive handouts on everything discussed. You may work in either pastel or acrylic. My demonstrations will be in both pastel and acrylic. I would recommend sticking with one medium during the workshop.

 ABOUT THE ARTIST:
 Debora L. Stewart is an abstract artist working in both pastel and acrylic. She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Her pastels have won awards from Pastel Journal Magazine, International Artist Magazine and the Pastel Society of America . Stewart’s work is expressive and intuitive. Debora is a regular instructor with Artists Network University where she teaches an online course in creating abstract pastels. She also teaches workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada. In 2015 her book on abstraction and mixed media will be published by F&W Media. Stewart has a B.A. in art from the University of Iowa.
