Frank Webb is one of the nation's premier watercolor teachers and brings enthusiasm and energy to his classes. Going beyond the usual technical display of watercolor, Webb’s paintings express his interest in the creative concept and design principles. He stresses the importance of seeing, feeling, and responding to possibilities while synthesizing realism with abstractionism. Frank Webb is the author of three books and has conducted workshops in 50 states. In 2006 Webb was included in "20 Great Watercolor Teachers" by the American Artist Magazine, "Watercolor". |
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: New realities beyond the mundane are sought using design principles and creative expression. The single, most important focus will be pictorial design, which includes planning, color, tonal values, expression and visual theme. Demonstrations, personal instruction and objective criticism will sharpen your critical powers. Not only will you gain a better understanding of the painting process, but you will be confident in your new found skills. Bring along drawings, photos or old paintings to serve as your subjects. With your regular painting gear include a soft pencil and sketch paper to plan exciting designs before painting. |
