Friday, Saturday & Sunday
We will be painting a variety of head studies in this 3 day workshop. We will design realistic works with supporting abstract elements and painterly approaches. Learning to simplify form, values and color, we begin to interpret and break down the head into more understandable tones, shapes and structure, instead of becoming distracted by details.
Students will be encouraged to incorporate mood and emotion into their paintings, allowing them to move beyond the “studio exercise phase” and into more exciting aspects of creating art. This class will be particularly helpful to students who wish to paint more loosely and to paint their subject more efficiently.
